A quiet but central spot, and a really nice location. We didn't need a car since we could walk or take a bus. The host was wonderful and more hospitable than we expected. I'd strongly recommend staying here, especially with teenagers. All the best, Lisa.

Dania was kind, easy to reach, and full of useful suggestions for places to eat, beaches, and things to do. She even arranged a rental car for us. We stayed two nights at Mme Bassia's place, right in central Chania and about a five-minute walk from the old Harbour and its restaurants. Our room was clean and had hot water. There’s no balcony, but guests can use the shared rooftop Veranda, though you can’t see the pretty center from up there.

We only spent one night here on our way to the airport after coming back from the south of the island, and I wish we'd discovered it during our first week in Chania. The landlady was friendly and helpful, and the room was spotless, comfortable, well equipped, and surprisingly spacious with a quaint feel. It’s right in the old town, so very handy, though there was street noise quite late. Our room was up a spiral staircase, and the shower room was a little cramped. Still, it was clean, the plumbing worked well, there was always hot water, and we had fresh white towels. No toiletries were supplied. A small shared kitchen lets you make tea or coffee whenever you like. I'd recommend it.

We had a lovely time and would happily visit again. The owners were consistently polite, kept the room clean, and communicated with us really well. They were ready to sort out any problems that came up. There are quite a lot of stairs and no elevator, so that may matter to some guests.
