Myrion Beach Resort & Spa - Adults Only

There’s a little town nearby with lots of restaurants and shops, and a taxi there costs 12 euro. Chania is only a 20 minute drive. Our room was big, comfortable, and had a big balcony. Even with the hotel packed, there were enough pool beds. Everything was clean, and the food was amazing. The buffet breakfast focused on quality over quantity and was perfect. I was a bit disappointed that using the padel court and sauna costs extra, and I’ve never seen a hotel charge 10 euro for room service.

The evening events were a nice touch, and Greek night was outstanding in every way. The food was very good, with outstanding desserts, though there was a little less variety than at other 5 star hotels in Crete. The service was outstanding, and we met some very friendly staff, even if the overall atmosphere felt a bit sober and less warm than other places in Crete and Greece. The cleaning schedule was hard to figure out, even after we left, but the cleaning ladies were very nice and friendly. The hotel was quiet and relaxing, with everything it needs. The pool is large and the water pleasantly warm enough to swim in all day. The room and beach sunbeds were more comfortable than the pool ones because you can adjust their angle. The pool beds sit over grass, and there’s a good sized grassy field that feels great to walk on. The pool towel system seemed odd, as it asked for our room number, and we hadn’t seen that elsewhere. The one thing I found really odd for a hotel with “Spa” in its name was charging 20 euro per person for sauna use. That’s a big downside and pretty much unacceptable. Still, it was well worth it, with no real complaints otherwise.

The Myrion Beach Resort & Spa is stylish, beautiful, and very clean, and the calm setting still has plenty to do. It’s adults-only, and the food was excellent with lots of variety. We were kindly upgraded to a suite with a private pool when we arrived, which was a lovely start. The staff, though, were often unfriendly and seemed unmotivated. Their service was well below what I’d expect at this price. It’s a chic place with great food, and could be perfect for adults looking to relax, but the service quality is clearly not good enough.

We chose this hotel because the pictures made it look like a relaxing place. The rooms were large, and the food was good, but the polished, almost sterile perfection made it hard to relax. The staff were polite, though it didn’t feel heartfelt. The all-white lobby was constantly being cleaned, but I hardly ever saw anyone sitting there. It needs more coziness and places that invite you to unwind, like a comfortable spot to sit between the pool and beach, shade by the pool, natural wood, decorations, and pillows. Just a few touches would make it feel warmer and more welcoming.
