What stood out most was how clean and well cared for the house was. It’s an old place, with small rooms and several flights of stairs, so it definitely won’t work for wheelchair users. But it’s right in the heart of the Old Town, and you get the whole house to yourself. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself, plus a small bathroom and a washing machine. One flight up is a bedroom with two single beds and a sweet little balcony; another flight leads to a double bedroom, and one more takes you to the roof terrace. The rooms have windows on opposite sides, so it should stay reasonably cool even in summer.

The roof terrace was the highlight for me. It’s full of aromatic and decorative plants, and a lovely place to share a beer or a drink with friends while looking across Chania’s old buildings, the narrow lanes, and sometimes the bright summer moon. The whole place feels warm and welcoming, with an interior that blends modern style with the character of a traditional home. The wooden furniture and simple, affordable decor sit alongside thoughtful design. It was spotless and well kept, with roomy closets, shelves, and tables for all your things. The bathroom was comfortable and elegant, and the kitchen was attractive and practical, with utensils for even a demanding cook. There’s room in the dining area for a big breakfast or a generous meal, and the little balcony, with its table and bright chairs, is a nice place for coffee any time of day.
