There’s a lovely sea view from every room, and the pool with its chairs is a real plus. At the beach, two sunbeds and an umbrella cost at least 15 euros. The hotel suits less demanding tourists. Breakfast is a buffet but the same each day, so more variety would be welcome. Dinner includes soup, a main course and dessert, with three dishes to choose from each day. Drinks at dinner cost extra, and air conditioning is another 5 EUR per day.

We felt like part of one big family, not just guests, and we’re very grateful for the stay. The staff were all kind and especially helpful when my girlfriend had an unexpected injury. Georgina, the receptionist, was wonderful, always ready to help with questions or problems and more like a friend to us. I’d recommend the hotel to anyone who wants a reliable, decent standard without expecting absolute luxury.

The view was amazing, and the beach was an eight-minute walk away. The room was cleaned daily, including the rubbish, paper, and floor, while towels and sheets were changed every two days. The food was varied and delicious, with two or three salads, two soups, three main dishes, and dessert to choose from. It was more than enough. The pool was cleaned every day too. The best hotel in Skala Potamia.

We’d happily come back. The staff and people around Thassos were friendly and considerate, the pool was clean, and the hotel grounds were pleasant, with cats living there that are lovely to pet. Dinners were pretty good, especially early in the week, though breakfast was simple and repeated each day. We preferred swimming in the sea. From every room and the restaurant there’s a sea view, and the Skala Potamia beach, about 150 meters away, was better for swimming than Golden Beach, with soft sand, no rocks, and beautiful mountain scenery. The hotel is well placed for exploring other parts of Thassos. Aloe marketplace, which belongs to the hotel family, is right by the beach, and guests get a discount there. Skala Potamia village has plenty of taverns for evenings. The room had a sturdy safe and air conditioning, though the AC costs extra. The room was the main downside. It was large, perhaps because we arrived at the start of the season, but very old and initially a shock. The rooms look much nicer in the hotel photos, though perhaps we were unlucky with ours. The bathroom was basic, the toilet was faulty, and only two outlets worked. That’s why I’m giving four out of five. One more tip: Marble Beach is nearby. Go in the morning, and it’s better to rent an SUV since the road is dusty and steep. For a simpler, safer drive, take the route to Marble Beach from Limenas.

From the balcony, there’s a beautiful view across the whole bay. The hotel sits on the main road, so you have to walk to the nearest beach for a swim. Its location works well if you’re planning to drive around the island.
