Villa Blue & White at Golden Beach

The beach has soft sand and shallow areas that extend a long way out, which looked good for children and people still learning to swim. Farther out there are windsurfing lanes, with several places along the shore offering lessons. You can walk north along the long stretch of beaches, or take the lit path south to Drios, a small fishing village with a few terrific restaurants. The hotel is also right on a KTEL bus route. The buses are safe, clean, reliable, and reach much of the island, including Naoussa, Parikia, Lefkes, Piso Livadi, and Marmara. A small convenience store by the hotel entrance and bus stop came in handy several times. We stayed last summer and had a wonderful week. The place gave us the peaceful setting we needed, and I'd happily return and recommend it. The location is perfect, with clean air-conditioned rooms, direct beach access, dedicated cabanas, a solid beach bar, a great restaurant, and an outstanding breakfast buffet. Anna leads the kitchen in the mornings and makes everything herself, including the amazing pastries. Breakfast was delicious, and a chance to learn about Cycladic specialties. If she suggests you try something, go for it. I think the hotel is family owned and operated, because the staff are so helpful and welcoming. They know the island well and offer good tips on places to see and how to get around. They take real pride in the business, and it shows in how they care for guests and the facilities.
