Maria and the whole Glykeria team made the second half of our honeymoon feel like such a treat. Everyone was warm and easygoing, and Maria was full of ideas for beaches and drives when the clouds got in the way of swimming. We trusted her restaurant and viewpoint suggestions and were glad we did. She also helped us out with things we needed for the room and beach, and was always kind about it. The location is hard to beat for Elafonisi, just a 5-10 minute drive, and there’s a mini market a couple of minutes away. We found a rental car useful for getting around Crete. The hotel is tidy and clean, with lovely views all around: sea from our balcony, mountains by the door, and both from the pool and restaurant. The pool area was a nice place to swim or sit with a book or a game, and the water was clean and refreshing. Across the road, the restaurant serves a really good breakfast with drinks for a set price of €9 per person. We’d happily recommend Glykeria again and again.

Even with just one night here, we left feeling like family. Maria and Nikos took care of every detail, and the rooms were peaceful, clean, and nicely kept, with beautiful surroundings and views. The pillows were especially lovely, and there was plenty of bottled water. They also provide shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel, and hand cream. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the hotel.

The food at the restaurant was delicious, and Maria was so kind to us. She shared lots of useful suggestions and lent us beach towels and an umbrella. The room was clean and pleasant, with a beautiful view, and everyone was lovely. We had such a great time at Glykeria and would love to return someday.

The restaurant is excellent, and Maria and Nikos make this my favorite hotel in Crete. I’m staying at a fancy five-star resort right now, but I keep wishing I were back at their warm, welcoming place. Maria really is a star. I can’t recommend it enough.

We visited in the last week of May with three elderly people, and Maria and Nicos were wonderful hosts. Nicos even washed our car after a sandstorm, while Maria shared plenty of information about what to see and where to go. Her suggestions were all amazing. The hotel is in a peaceful spot away from the crowds, with sea and mountain views, and it’s close to Elafonisi. Our rooms were extremely clean. Right across from the hotel is a family run restaurant connected to the owners. The food was delicious, and the welcome there was just as good as at the hotel. Try their anchovies in their own marinade. I’d absolutely recommend both the hotel and restaurant.
