Austella Suite

We spent three nights here and loved the apartment. It’s spacious, charming, and decorated in a Provence style, right in the city center. Google found it without trouble. The owner welcomed us and showed us around; when we checked out, we just left the keys in the living room. There’s a living room, bedroom, hall, and kitchen, with everything we needed, including a hairdryer, kettle, and washing machine with laundry capsules. They cleaned every day, even doing the dishes. The shower was a bit odd, though I imagine they may fix it after this review. We got complimentary wine at check-in and lots of treats with our tea. We booked the only parking space beside the apartment in advance. The gates weren’t locked when we left, but somehow the spot had stayed free, apparently because of the sign on the gate. Restaurants and shops are close by. We went to Miky Coffee one evening, where the coffee was delicious and not too expensive. It’s cozy, and one of the waiters speaks Russian.

For the price, these apartments are really good. Ours had a bedroom with two beds, plus a kitchen, fridge, living room, and bathroom. It was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The only strange bit was the hot tub sitting in the middle of the bedroom.

I’d only give this place two stars. It’s fully equipped and right in the city center, but that’s all I can say in its favor, and I wouldn’t return. The apartment is on the ground floor, down a flight of stairs. There are two rooms, one by the entrance with the kitchenette and sofa, and another with the beds. Each has a window facing the street, with no yard or balcony. It feels like a dungeon, with both windows on one side, and the place gets stuffy and smells damp. I was glad to see a washing machine in the bathroom, but didn’t use it because its drawer was black with mold. The bin smelled awful, too. I also wonder how anyone uses the jacuzzi in the room, with all that moisture around.

Basically a little house, and the room is spacious and nicely decorated, though a bit cluttered with things that aren’t useful. It was relatively clean, but there were no cleaning products like chlorine. The only TV is in the living room, not the bedroom, and it doesn’t get Greek channels. It was cold, too. The place is on the ground floor and has two air conditioners, one in the bedroom and one in the living room, but they didn’t warm the whole space. There aren’t any carpets or rugs.
