The bathroom door takes real effort to open and close, and the bathroom is practically in the kitchen. The stairs are very narrow and steep, so getting in is difficult. Corfu Old Town is lively, but there’s a lot of noise and no sound insulation in the apartment. It was a little dusty when we arrived, though that’s somewhat understandable given the building’s age.

The layout and decor were charming, and the living area and bedrooms felt cozy and inviting. Those rooms were clean and nicely furnished, and the kitchen had the essentials for preparing meals. I also liked having a balcony to relax in the Corfu sun and get some fresh air. But my excitement faded as soon as I saw the bathrooms. They were badly neglected, with black mold across the walls, ceilings, and around the fixtures. It looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned or maintained for a long time. Calling them simply dirty doesn’t really describe it. The mold and unsanitary conditions made using them uncomfortable and affected my whole stay, despite how lovely and clean the apartment itself was.
