Cavalieri Hotel

The room was the biggest problem: it felt old, neglected, uncomfortable, and poorly maintained. The furniture was worn, the atmosphere unpleasant, and the bathroom was extremely cramped and badly designed. Its condition simply wasn't acceptable for a hotel, and these rooms shouldn't be rented as they are. It also didn't feel properly cleaned or fresh, and the whole place gave the impression it hadn't been cared for or updated in a very long time. The convenient location, close to everything, was the only good part of my stay at Cavarili Hotel in Corfu. That doesn't make up for the room, comfort, and general condition. I wouldn't stay again or recommend it.

The hotel sits in a handy spot between the markets and the old fort, and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was great, with hot food as well as continental choices, and the staff were very willing to help with anything. The pizza place next door is nice too. If you need to go beyond town, look for the green busses. The hotel staff can point you to them, since there seems to be very little information online.

The rooftop bar visit was awful. A grey haired man acting as manager was extremely rude, aggressive, and unprofessional, with no customer service. We left and went somewhere else. The other staff seemed scared of him, and I don't blame them. He really lets the place down. It looked like a lovely spot for a sunset drink, which makes it a shame. There are plenty of nicer bars in Corfu Old Town with kinder people running them. Our hotel stay itself wasn't bad, but we wouldn't choose it again. The room was small and dated, and the air conditioning couldn't cool it enough in the midsummer heat, so we slept uncomfortably. It feels due for an upgrade and didn't seem like good value. Breakfast had loads of choice, though the coffee was terrible. We were upgraded, which was a lovely surprise, and the view from our room was beautiful. The guys downstairs were so friendly and helpful. We also appreciated having unlimited free bottled water throughout our stay.

We were lucky to get a room looking straight out to sea, with a stunning view of the old fortress. This was a lovely, cosy hotel in Corfu town's historic centre, and a great find. The staff were friendly and professional, and the breakfast buffet was great.
