Isidora's House only gets two stars from me. The apartment feels tired, and the photos in the listing must be several years old. They don't show how it looked in August 2024. There were no curtains on any windows, so we hung bedsheets on the bare rails. The main balcony door had no shutters either. A breaker in the circuit box controlled the hot water instead of a normal switch. The apartment felt as if a family had left in a rush, rather than it being prepared as a holiday rental. A wardrobe had bike, car and skate stickers on it, unlike in the listing photos. A shelf in that room was broken and pushed under a bed. Personal papers were scattered through several drawers, and tools including a utility knife and hammer were left out. This worried us because we'd said our group included two five-year-olds. The photos also hide the 1.5-2m drop between the dining table and TV, with a steep staircase below. Sitting on the bench felt uncomfortable, and the layout was completely unsuitable for children. The entrance door was splintered and looked as if it had been kicked in, so I didn't feel our things were secure when we went out. Some floorboards creaked badly. For four people staying a week, there were only two toilet rolls and four tiny shower gels. The listed cooking basics, salt, pepper and oil, weren't there, nor was a toaster. The only extra was one bottle of water. The queen bed was actually two singles with a topper over them. We gave our flight number when booking an airport transfer, but waited about half an hour after collecting our bags for the driver. We had requested two child seats but only got one. Then we waited a long time for Pavlos to let us into the apartment. The location in Corfu town was okay, and you can reasonably walk around. Friday and Saturday nights were fairly noisy until about midnight. The air conditioning worked well in 39C heat, and two tower fans helped move cooler air from the main room to the bedrooms. The washing machine worked, but was tucked in a small cupboard under the bathroom that some people may find hard to get into. It smelled strongly of damp and sewage, and that didn't improve during our stay.
