St.George's Bay Country Club & Spa

The breakfast buffet was delicious, and they even put together a breakfast package for us on our flight day. Everything was beautiful and very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’ll book here whenever I’m in Corfu.

The sea view from the restaurant was splendid, and its menu had Greek specialties, though you couldn’t order anything that wasn’t listed. We stayed last summer and found a clean, quiet and lovely apartment among flowers and plants. The beach was peaceful and relaxing, and there was also a beautiful spa and a wonderful outdoor pool. The waiters and other staff were always kind and helpful. You’ll need a car or taxi to visit the beautiful city of Corfu. The hotel is about an hour from the airport. Greetings from Rome (Italy).

The resort itself was nice and quiet, and the gardens really were beautiful. We liked the spa too, though it could do with renovation. Most employees were polite, but the manager didn’t even say hello to guests. The biggest problem was the shower in our suite. Water leaked across the floor every time we used it, and we spent all 10 days, nine nights, taking showers at the spa and carrying our shampoo there so we could have a normal, dry bathroom. We reported the issue every day. For two days reception said they’d send a plumber, but nobody came. After two nights, they offered a smaller, uglier, unrenovated room. We declined, since they said someone from Corfu town would come that day or the next to repair the shower cabin in our room. That never happened, and the repair kept being postponed. After three days of complaints, the only other room offered was a cheaper, differently furnished junior suite of 36 m2 for max. 2 adults. We had booked a 45 mp suite for 3 adults at 300 euro per night, so of course we didn’t accept it. The promised better plumber from Corfu town was another big lie. In the end, the serious problems in our room were never fixed. The only compensation offered, after I insisted, was a late checkout that they said would cost 50 euros for a couple of hours. We’d asked almost three months before the holiday for a sea view room, but were put beside the parking, looking onto neighbours’s field. Then we were asked for 450 euros more for a sea view. The room description said the rooms should have garden, pool or seaviews, and I’ve attached a photo of it. To me, that description was misleading. The breakfast was poor quality, with the same eggs and sad ham each morning, and the coffee was a disgusting joke. There were no ventilators at the restaurant, so it was terribly hot. And yes, we Romanian people drink good, freshly brewed coffee, not nesscafe. The Acharavi beach is full of stones, as anyone can google. At this hotel, the big slippery stone at the entrance to the sea was dangerous. Many customers, including us, fell. The fans on the terrace were a joke, even during the rare mornings when they worked. We paid a lot for a room with major problems and felt cheated. Lies, lies, lies, and the worst holiday in Greece after looking forward to it for a whole year. 😡

We spent two weeks at St. George’s Bay Country Club, and it’s a great place for a relaxing stay in Corfu. The grounds were breathtaking, with two pools and a luxurious spa. We enjoyed the saunas, steam rooms and gym, and I’d recommend booking professional massages. The restaurant was excellent, with five-star service from the wait staff. From arrival, everyone was warm, welcoming and helpful. They helped arrange a car rental, shared local recommendations and were always ready to help. I’d highly recommend it for a relaxing holiday with all the luxuries included.
