Yard Studio by Corfuescapes

Lovely place and lovely hosts. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it.

The apartment’s location is very good, and in the booking photos and on Google Maps it looked bright and spotless. But that wasn’t what we found when we arrived. Cleaning was rough, the sheet had holes (I have a photo), and I ended up buying my own pillowcase. The place was cleaned once during our six nights, which felt like indifference rather than a one-off situation, such as running out of soap. There was diluted detergent in a water bottle in the kitchen, and dishwashing liquid in the bathroom instead of hand soap. We can’t find the photos of those things to upload, apart from the sheet. Other signs were the missing sink drain lid and an old bathroom bin. At 130 euros, these things matter. It wouldn’t take much to clean the room properly, check the sheets, and provide soap. We even considered buying a bar of bath soap to leave behind. We could have complained during the stay, but a review is a review. One more thing: until yesterday there were two reviews rated 4 or higher. After a negative review appeared, 8-10 positive five-star reviews with no comments showed up right away. They were reported, disappeared, and then returned to the top of the list.

The room was a dirty basement with major shortcomings: dirty pillowcases, worn towels, sheets with holes, dust, and dishwashing liquid being used as hand soap. These things gave the impression that the managers didn’t care. At 130 euros, the price is no small amount, and the Booking rating seems questionable. The one advantage was the location, right beside the old town.

A comfortable, quiet room with a big bed, a good bathroom, and a kitchen stocked with what you’d need to cook. There’s also a small courtyard where you can have your morning coffee. The location is excellent, right in central Corfu, with shops nearby and the old town a two-minute walk away. Check-in and checkout were easy, with the information sent to your phone. I needed a shaker for my coffee on the first day, and after I told Yiannis, he brought one within an hour. He was very helpful with requests. When I visit Corfu again, this will be my first choice.
