The receptionist was lovely and the room was affordable, maybe a 7/10. But if you have a car, be aware that you need to drive around the block to park, then walk around the block again to get back to the hotel. There’s no access from the car park into the hotel. That was really upsetting for someone dealing with body pain and carrying a disability parking permit. The hotels are part of the Sunshine chain, and seeing an empty lot across the road made it even more frustrating that I couldn’t park there. If you don’t mind walking around the block to drop off and collect your car, you may be fine. The pool smelled overly chlorinated, so I didn’t feel comfortable swimming. Also, although cleaning was said to be daily, our room was cleaned on the second day, not every day.

The location is away from the noisy bar street, and breakfast was good for the price. The room was cleaned daily, but the fresh towels we got each time had dark marks and didn’t seem properly clean. There were several things that need attention. The bedroom had poor internet, as did the sea-view balcony. There were no mosquito nets, and the hairdryer overheated every minute and had an extremely short cord. The air conditioning was set up badly: it blew into the bedroom but not through the doorway to the sunny, hotter living room where our teenager stayed. We asked for a fan. Opening the balcony door also switched off the air conditioning in the bedroom, so we couldn’t ventilate the living room that way. There was a strong musty smell. Nothing visible, but the plaster suggests there may be a hidden mold problem.

You can have a quiet, relaxing stay or head out for the party scene, since everything is close by. The beach is a leisurely 10-minute walk, the old town is 5 minutes away, and the main street with pubs, bars, shops, and restaurants is just 3 minutes on foot. The hotel has been tastefully refurbished, with nicely sized and decorated rooms and excellent service. It’s perfectly placed, and the room prices are worth mentioning too. My one small complaint is the extra 7 euros per room per day for air conditioning.

A few touch-ups would help. There was nowhere to store our things in either the room or bathroom, so we had to put everything on the floor. There were beds in the kitchen, yes, but I wasn’t going to unpack on one. You can cook in the apartment, though only simple things, and it really needs a cloth for drying dishes. We used a towel instead. My family and I have traveled to Bali, Vietnam, Turkey, Zanzibar, Italy, and Tunisia, and everywhere else we paid at checkout. Here we had to pay when checking in. Still, it wasn’t bad overall. Sending big kisses to the cleaning lady.

The staff were incredibly nice, and we had a really good stay. The apartments and hotel were very clean and close to the shops and beach. Thanks to all the girls, we’ll be back! :D
