Depis Place

We booked based on the reviews and photos, but at check-in they said the hotel was full and moved us to another property a few miles away. It was Depis economy, where the rooms were older and more basic than pictured, and ours had no balcony even though we'd paid for one. We complained, but nothing changed. The next day we found the shower drain blocked. Water came out through another floor drain and left the entire room floor, including our things, wet. They apologized when we raised it and promised a refund if we removed our negative reviews. We took them down, but no refund ever came, and our messages were ignored. Here's the honest review. If you get the room you booked, good for you. If they relocate you to another building, I'd refuse it and ask for a refund. We were lucky to stay only one night. The photos should be more realistic for the “economy version.”

We booked through Depis Place and Apartments, which communicated well and let us leave our bags while the room was being prepared. But we were taken to the smaller nearby Hellens Studios, without being told in advance that we'd be staying at a different hotel. The room wasn't what the Depis Place and Apartments website had advertised, which is why I've rated the experience lower. The host was amazing and the hotel was clean and very well located. I don't have a direct complaint about the room or the hosts. We thought the price we paid was fair, but during the busy season I can imagine it being frustrating to arrive expecting one hotel and be sent elsewhere. The arrangement feels misleading and should be advertised more clearly. It may be better to book directly with the smaller hotel, where the price could be lower and you'd know what to expect.

Avoid this place. Depis studio is very unprofessional, and I believe their policy is to mislead guests. You book a well-reviewed, attractive room near the port at a higher price, then they tell you there was a mistake and show you a lower-quality room at another hotel farther from the port. That behavior is unacceptable.

Our stay itself went well, as I also mentioned in my Booking review. The problem came after we returned to France and I asked for an invoice. I received three, but none had my first and last name or the dates of our stay, and none was correct. We need the invoice for my companion's works council, which reimburses part of the holiday cost. I've sent three messages since receiving the documents and haven't had a reply.
