Fedriades Delphi Hotel

The room was clean and reasonably comfortable, but the bathroom and door made the night stressful. The shower’s half partition let water spread all over the floor, there was nowhere to put toiletries, and the drain was clogged with a mat of someone else’s hair. Disgusting. The door wouldn’t stay shut and kept opening, with no chain or other extra security, so we spent the night uneasy that it might open again. Check-in was uncomfortable from the start. The young woman at reception seemed unwilling to help, spoke curtly and rudely for no reason, and made us feel unwelcome. If we hadn’t prepaid, I would have left. This was one of our worst hotel stays in recent memory and the worst in Greece. Stay somewhere else in Delphi.

The staff were warm, friendly, and professional, and breakfast was fresh, varied, and very good each morning. We stayed three nights at Fedriades Hotel and had a lovely time. Our room had a beautiful view, though it felt a little small for three people. That was fine since we spent most of our days outside exploring Delphi and the nearby villages. Street parking was available. I’d recommend it if you’re after a scenic view and welcoming service.

The location was handy for the museum, restaurants, and shops, and we felt safe there. Our room on the top floor gave us extra space, though it was still the smallest we had in Greece. It also had the smallest bed, a queen. Delphi didn’t seem to have king-size options. There’s only a little tub with a handheld shower, no regular shower. The view was fantastic. Breakfast ranked third among the four hotels we stayed at, with plenty of decent choices and an okay Greek coffee machine. The elevator wasn’t loud for us, though we use a white noise machine. Its light coming on whenever someone rode it was annoying, but easy to block.

We got in late, and the staff helped us find a nearby place to park and pointed us to a restaurant that was still serving. The room was clean, with a stunning balcony view. We drove to the archaeological site, though it was within easy walking distance.
