Porto Lourbas Hotel

We visited outside the Greek tourist season and almost had the place to ourselves, sharing a large pool with just one other couple. The couple running the hotel were really friendly, the rooms were decent, and Galaxidi is just around the corner for dinner. Breakfast was poor, and the hotel felt very dark inside. Given the price, we could overlook those things and enjoy the good parts. A great find.

The gardens gave the hotel so much character, and it was peaceful with friendly people everywhere. We loved the pool and the lovely walk by the sea and beach. The rooms were clean and tidy, though the beds were probably the least comfortable of our whole holiday. The balconies were great. We just wished there were somewhere close to pick up beer or wine and snacks. Breakfast was simple, fresh, and great. Walking to Galixidi takes around 45 minutes, mostly along the coast, and it’s a really nice route. On the way, a gentleman from the hotel pulled over and offered us a lift, which we appreciated, though we were happy to walk. The area is lovely, and driving around was amazing. Really glad we stayed.

We came by motorcycle after a 10-day trip, and the hotel let us wash our clothes. In June, the weather was fantastic, the pool was practically ours alone, and it was a great place to rest. Breakfast was tasty, and the staff were super nice and helpful. There are drinks and snacks at the hotel, and a restaurant on the beach is 2.9 km away on foot.

Hotel Porto Lourbas is a quiet place with good service, access to the sea on foot, and accommodation at a reasonable cost. Here's some useful information. The sea is almost right outside, across a narrow dirt road, and beach shoes are advisable for swimming. The hotel is 4.2 km by car from Galaxidi, or 5.1 km by tourist bus. There are no nearby restaurants or cafés, delivery from Galaxidi isn’t available, and finding a TAXI can be very difficult or impossible, especially in July and August. The hotel has no kitchen for meals beyond breakfast. It can make Greek coffee and hot or cold Nescafe, but not espresso or cappuccino, and breakfast comes with filter coffee only. To reach reception, you have to climb 5 steps, with no ramp. There are 9 rooms at reception level, about mezzanine height. Rooms below are down 14 steps, and rooms above require climbing 12 steps. There’s no elevator. The management and staff will definitely help with anything you need. I think the photos will give you enough information about the hotel.
