The bed and bedding made for a really comfortable night, and the shower was impressively hot and strong. Loukas even met us at the port, though his apartments are only a five-minute walk away. We had a lovely, spacious room with a fantastic sea-view terrace and a well-equipped kitchen. A definite five-star stay.

We were so disappointed with our stay this past week. The apartment was dirty and run-down, and the photos used to advertise it didn’t show what it was really like. We booked the two-room apartment with one bathroom outside Makares because it was the only one available. Loukas had started managing the property this year and was asking over 160 euro per night for the first week of July. When we challenged him about the misleading pictures, he got offended. We’ve stayed before at Makares, which was okay, and at Kouklaki, which he manages and which is absolutely perfect, so this was especially surprising. We’ll never visit again or recommend it to anyone we know.

The sea is wonderfully clear and the view is breathtaking, and the owners were fantastic, friendly and helpful. It’s a small, colourful Greek island in the Cyclades, with a hotel that has beautiful modern furniture, lovely soft clean linens and towels, and very fine amenities. Food is amazing nearly everywhere on the island too! A wonderful place for an unforgettable Greek island vacation, highly recommended.

Lukas was thoughtful and welcoming, always around with local tips and a kind manner. Our room was incredible, the staff were wonderful, and the place is right on the ocean in a perfect location. It felt like heaven. We had an absolutely amazing stay and will be back. Highly recommend.

It’s peaceful here, yet just a few metres from the taverns, bakery and other places. Lukas and his team are super friendly and easygoing. The room was nice and the view fantastic, making it perfect for a stay on Donoussa. Thanks for everything, we’ll come back.
