Dymitris was a really nice, helpful host, and we had two wonderful weeks here. The apartment sits among trees and bushes on the edge of the lovely little village of Douliana, so it's especially suited to anyone who values peace, quiet, and nature. It's a good base for exploring too: Chania and Rethymno are about a 40-minute drive, and the nearby beach is around 10 minutes away by car. Douliana itself is also worth a visit.

The greenery around the house makes the setting lovely, and the trees give welcome shade on hot days. It's a small house with a lot of atmosphere, though six people felt cramped, so four at most would be more comfortable. One of the rooms is really a mezzanine with two beds. The pool is handy in summer, and the air conditioning helps especially at night.

The manager was very friendly, and the rooms were wonderfully quiet and clean, surrounded by greenery. There are handmade wooden details throughout, and the comfortable pool is nice for a swim even in the evening. They even provide olive oil and tsikoudia. I love this special part of Apokoronas.

Set on the edge of a village, the place was cool, shady, and quiet. The stone construction felt solid, and there were lots of thoughtful little extras. The landlord was very friendly. A real insider tip.
