Double Bay Beach Hotel

The staff made us feel at home, like family without the family drama, and the barista made excellent espresso drinks with latte art. Breakfast was legendary, the à la carte kitchen was outstanding, and even my very picky son was happy to try new things. There’s also an EVSE charger on the property, possibly the only one on the island. The rooms deserve their four-star rating, with everything you could need, including bathrobes, slippers and a small tucked-away kitchen for families. The pool was sparkling clean, like the rest of the property. We chose the hotel mainly for Simos Beach, with its pristine waters and soft white sand, free of seaweed, stones and rocks. After a week here, though, Double Bay Beach Hotel may be the main reason we come back. We check out tomorrow and I’m already wondering how soon is too soon to return.

Simos Beach, with its clear water and lovely sandy shore, is just a five-minute walk away. The hotel itself is modern and elegant, with stylish attention to detail, and we had an excellent stay. The owners were always kind and welcoming. They even gave our child little treats during our stay and a lovely gift at the end. The only thing I’d improve is the Wi-Fi. It’s not the most important part of a holiday, but it is useful, and with 5G coverage on the island, it could be better. A high-quality family hotel experience.

We felt right at home here, and everyone was lovely with our one-and-a-half-year-old. It’s a small hotel of about 15 rooms, which I think is ideal if you want to avoid crowds. Our room was very spacious, and having a kitchen meant we could make food for the baby now and then. Even when we didn’t cook, the staff were always willing to prepare something for him. There’s a nice pool, a play area and a pleasant patio for relaxing or having breakfast. The breakfast had plenty of sweet and savoury choices. Simos beach is a five-minute walk away, and small Simos is two minutes by car. Elafonisos is a fantastic island, and our stay at double bay beach hotel made the trip unforgettable. The place, service and people were all fantastic. We’ll definitely come back next year!

The hotel is high quality, much like something you’d see in Scottsdale Arizona, and I’d definitely return. My balcony was included and had a very nice view, though the view from the parking lot shares space with a campers village area. It’s not bad, just a different feel from the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was very good. The beach is a 10-15 minute walk away, a beautiful sandy bay that’s at least half a mile long, so there’s room for everyone even on weekends. It looked like a swimming pool. It can get windy at times, which is uncomfortable.
