Esperance 1

The staff were friendly and accommodating. It’s a convenient spot near the port, with a little gas station and market right next door and plenty of restaurants nearby.

We were in room 27 on the second floor, and getting there meant using the stairs since there’s no elevator. That lowered our rating. It’s very close to the port, which is handy for a quick stop or a short stay, though I'm unsure about staying longer because Ermoupolis isn't especially quiet. The room was spacious enough for two, had a comfortable bed and the basic amenities, but no balcony, just a window facing the port. The staff were very welcoming and kind, and our towels and linen were changed every day. Breakfast was à la carte with enough options, but because it’s cooked fresh, we had to wait for it each morning. Noise also carried through the doors and rooms, which weren’t well insulated. There were practical issues too. The air conditioning only worked with the key card in, so leaving the room cut the power, including to sockets where we had devices charging. There weren't many outlets, which was difficult with several devices between two people. In the bathroom, the drains, including the toilet, were slow, the ventilation was noisy, and the hairdryer was very small. The total price for the room with breakfast didn't feel in line with the service. I'd recommend it for a short stop between islands, but not for more than one night.

The location is perfect, and the modern rooms were spotless. Even though the hotel is close to the port, it really is soundproof. It’s family-run, and everyone on staff was genuinely wonderful and so helpful. If I could give it six stars, I would. Thanks to everyone at Esperance for making our stay in Syros perfect. ❤️

Alex and Marios at the front desk were so welcoming and helpful, always eager to make things right. The hotel and rooms were immaculate, and breakfast had a nice range of choices, all good quality and served at the right temperature. There are beautiful views over the water, and the port is just steps away, with an Enterprise car rental and gas station next door. Syros was beautiful, and staying here made our visit even better. It's a hidden gem, and I don't think you'll be disappointed booking it. Happy travels!
