Hotel Omiros

The location made it easy to get to Ermoupoli's town square and its restaurants and bars, just a short walk away. The room was spacious and bright, with a fabulous view towards the harbour. Breakfast was generous and excellent each morning, enough to keep us going until dinner, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. It's a beautiful old building that's been thoughtfully turned into a hotel. There are lots of steps, both to reach it and inside, so bear that in mind if stairs are an issue.

We slept with the windows open and enjoyed how quiet the residential area was, away from the roads. It took just 5-10 minutes down the steps to reach the main harbour. The owner gave us a warm welcome, and staying in this beautiful old house was a real treat, especially if you like historic architecture. A lovely experience all around.

Hotel Omiros is a charming old building, and we loved the interior, the helpful staff, and the balcony's amazing harbour view. It's close to town by a short walk, though there are steps from Miaouli Square, so it won't work for PRMs. With heavy luggage, the climb is doable but something to be ready for. The mattress was very hard and uncomfortable, and I couldn't sleep well. I also felt uneasy about needing a key to lock and unlock the door from inside. If there were a fire, getting out quickly could be difficult, and that didn't feel safe to me. Even with those issues, we had a pleasant stay.

The mansion is beautifully cared for by its owner, and we enjoyed the historic character, even the noisy wooden floors and old doors and windows. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and pleasant, and breakfast was perfect. It's a peaceful spot, though getting to everything takes a 5-15 minute walk with stairs.
