Skylight

Getting into the hotel was a real headache. There are only four rooms, no reception, and nowhere to leave bags if you arrive early or depart late. We needed an entry code, but it hadn't been sent. People outside were banging on the door and saying they'd had the same problem. We tried emailing and ringing the bell, and got in only because the maid happened to be there. Once inside, though, Room #3 was worth the hassle. It has no view, but it's huge and bright, with a sweet little outdoor alcove. It's up about 33 steps, and there's no elevator. Rooms #1 and #2 are only about 18 steps up. Room #3 is brighter than the room below it, maybe #2, though I'm not sure, thanks to its skylight and open-to-the-sky alcove. The place was pristine, modern, and spotless. The room was elegantly decorated and had lots of storage, a luggage rack, a large safe, and a big fridge with really good water. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the towels were the softest we've had in Europe. They even left some fun candies on the counter. Room #3 doesn't have a view, but the rooftop does. On the way up the stairs, there's a button on the left that opens the skylight at the roof entrance. If you bring wine that needs opening, there's a corkscrew in the room. The location is great for ferry arrivals, just a few minutes' walk to the right along the main street from where you get off. We found luggage lockers in a Blue Star Ferry ticket shop across from the ferry drop-off point.
