Haroula made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, and we enjoyed chatting with her over coffee or a beer. We only stayed two nights, both times we came here, and wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms are simple, clean, tidy, and comfortable enough, with nothing fancy about them. They’re also very affordable. Haroula is warm and kind, always happy to chat or suggest places to visit, but she’s fine if you prefer not to. It’s a great base for the nearby beaches, Matala, and some of Crete’s most beautiful spots. We came back after two years and found the same welcoming atmosphere. If you’re after luxury, this probably isn’t the place, but the experience with Haroula is one you’ll remember.

The location in Kalamaki worked perfectly, with everything close by and Phaistos just a 10-minute drive away. Our room was spacious, clean, and nice, and the host made us feel very welcome. I’d definitely recommend these apartments.

We had a really good stay. The rooms were clean and had AC, though the beds may feel short if you’re over 1.8 meters tall. The kitchen was okay, but we ate out most days anyway. The host was especially nice, ready to answer questions, offer recommendations, or just sit and chat over a drink or two.
