The pool was great, and we felt at home in our room right beside it. It was a beautiful, fairly peaceful stay, and we felt very welcome. But there was no Wi-Fi reception in that room, and the curtains let the sunshine in at 6am. The air conditioning and fridge were so noisy we had to turn them off overnight. Even then, super loud pigeons and a caged bird in the pine trees in the garden woke us at 6am.

We stayed for one night and had breakfast, and the family running the hotel treated us very kindly. The rooms are basic, but spotless, with nice balconies. It’s a peaceful, beautiful place and very good value, especially for somewhere with a pool.

At €60, this felt far too expensive for what we got. The hotel and breakfast were both very basic. In the bathroom, there was nowhere to hang the shower head, and someone had stuffed a towel into the ventilation. We told them we weren’t happy, but didn’t really get a response.

The cleaning was done very well, and the hotel made it easy to enjoy Matala. Breakfast got quite repetitive, and the pool closes at night. One tip: look up on your walk back in the evening. The clear, dark sky full of stars is amazing. Comfortable and relaxing stay!

The bathrooms weren’t very practical, and breakfast was quite basic, though fair enough for just 5€. Still, it was a nice stay. The little hotel looks nice, sits on the old Matala road, and has affordable rates. The staff were very kind and caring.
