The location is hard to beat: just a few meters from Matala’s pedestrian center and the beach, plus free private parking, which is a real help in such a busy place. The room itself was spotless but very small, with nowhere to put luggage. The bed was comfortable and there was a small fridge. The bathroom had no window and gave off a terrible smell all day and night. It seemed to come from the pipes, not from cleaning. The cleaner must have noticed it, so I was puzzled when reception seemed surprised after asking me about it at checkout. About the rating: if this room had been somewhere else, I’d give it 2 stars, not 4. Most places in central Matala seem to have similarly tiny rooms. It reminded me of my first visits to Mykonos in the mid-90s.

We had a lovely, relaxing time in Matala. The place was comfortable and very clean, and the beach is close by. Breakfast in the beautiful garden was a real treat.

We had another brilliant stay. The staff were helpful and very polite, the room was great, and breakfast was fabulous. Such a relaxing time, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

The free parking was handy, and the place was clean, reasonably modern, and cleaned every day. The Wi-Fi was extremely poor, though. The router needs replacing. Also, the shower handle kept falling off every few minutes and couldn’t be adjusted.
