Studio Anessis

Ms. Maria and her smiling husband were a real highlight, so warm and friendly. We’ve stayed here three times and hope to return. The location is just a few metres from the sandy beach. There are a few flat rocks in the water straight out from the Studio, but about 30 metres to the left it’s all sand. You can use the free sunbeds and umbrellas, rinse off at the shower, and order food or drinks from the restaurant next door. The rooms and terrace have amazing views. The studios are clean and cleaned every day, though the older furnishings could use some updating, especially in the kitchen. Shops are nearby, as are plenty of restaurants and cafés. Parking is easy, and the free Wi-Fi is good enough. The TV isn’t a recent model, but we didn’t need it.

Those five days were a struggle for my family, and Atlantica Park around the corner rescued what little we got from the trip. We were constantly being complained at, despite the place describing itself as family friendly. Anyone who has trouble with stairs should avoid it. Kalamaki beach is really for sunbathing, in my experience: swimming is difficult, getting into the water is hard, and the waves are always high. I wouldn’t stay here.

We fit four of us into one large room, and it was good value for the money. Great location, and the owners were really nice.

Maria was such a lovely host, and the rooms have an amazing view across the bay. A great place to stay!
