The pool area and Cretan stone exterior are the standout parts of this spacious villa, with plenty of room and a lovely view. Inside, it’s well furnished, very clean, and stocked with all the small appliances you could need. It isn’t brand new and could use a few minor updates, but it’s clearly well looked after. Having both a built-in grill and a wood-fired oven outside was a nice extra. Xenophon and Maria were wonderfully courteous and helpful, replying to anything we needed within minutes. We were happy with almost everything. The plumbing and taps had some problems and could use attention. The access road is also a drawback, though I don’t think that’s the owners’ fault. Getting there is a struggle without a 4x4 or a high-clearance car. There’s complete privacy, a large pool, and lots of space and comfort. The price is average for the area, and for what the villa offers, we felt it was well worth it.

The quiet surroundings made it a pleasure to come back to the house, and we slept wonderfully. It’s also a great base for visiting historic towns, the mountains, and the beautiful beaches in southern Crete. The owners were warm and attentive, doing their best to meet every wish. Many thanks to Maria and Xenophon. Sandra and Gottfried, Graz, Austria
