Apollo Blue

The beach was sandy and regularly cleaned, and the sea was clean too. It was lovely for swimming and good for children. I could always find an unoccupied sunbed by the pool or beach, and the hotel never felt too busy. I liked the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet, and the staff were friendly. The room was spacious and air-conditioned. I booked a garden-view room through booking.com, but ended up in one of the three rooms facing the parking lot. The mini fridge was sometimes a little loud, and the air-con controls were built into the wall, with no remote. I didn't raise either issue because it was a short trip and I spent most of the time at the beach. It was a pleasant stay and I'd come back.

The hotel makes a great place for couples and families, with easy access to the beach. Facilities were immaculate and well looked after, and the food and drinks on site were very affordable. The staff were all helpful and the hospitality was great.

We spent nine days here on half board, and the location was the hotel's one real advantage. It was close to Faliraki, which came in handy because we ate dinner outside most nights. The hotel is nowhere near five stars. The rooms badly need renovation, and drain flies were all over the bathroom, so we had to keep its door shut to stop them getting into the room. Common areas also need a lot of repair; the place looks old wherever you look. Restaurant choices were limited. The waiters were quite rude and treated us like second-class guests because we weren't all-inclusive. As other guests have said, beach sunbeds cost €8 a day. The indoor pool costs €10 per person per day because it's part of the “spa facilities”, and even basic games like the pool table cost extra. That's ridiculous.

After two days of our holiday in Rhodes, the war between Israel and Iran broke out and we were stuck, unable to get home. Apollo Beach understood our situation and tried to help us stay a few more days. When no rooms were available, they offered us a small discount and arranged a move across the street to Apollo Blue, their sister hotel, which is considered a higher standard. The staff there welcomed us with the same care and warmth, even though we couldn't say how long we'd stay and extended one day at a time. We'd come for a vacation and were welcomed with open arms. Staff at both Apollo Blue and Apollo Beach answered our questions and were kind and helpful. I wanted to thank them both. They're simply 10/10 for the facilities and the kindness of their staff.
