Hotel Muses

We stayed for a week with a friend, from August 3rd to August 10th, and found the place awful. The hotel felt extremely old, as if it hadn’t been renovated in 30 or 40 years. Our room was filthy and in terrible shape: dusty, with dirty, hard mattresses and a pillow so worn out that sleeping comfortably was impossible. We suspected bedbugs because we often woke with bites. Breakfast was served in a very hot room without air conditioning. There was nothing decent to eat, just cheap store-bought cheese and ham cold cuts and some boiled eggs, all on dirty, worn dishes. Around the pool, the plastic chairs and loungers were ancient, stained, and looked like they hadn’t been replaced in decades. Rooms weren’t cleaned unless you insisted, and even then they might not do it. To me, this place is a total dump and not worth a cent. Travelers should avoid it completely and never book or pay for it.

The rooms and breakfast weren’t great, and cleanliness was middling. Still, the pool was very clean and almost always free, so it felt like we had it to ourselves. The staff were very kind, and Angele and his father were especially lovely. The atmosphere was genuinely friendly, and the location is top: we could get anywhere in faliraki within 10 minutes, yet the hotel stayed peaceful and quiet. For 80€ a day, this hotel is a really good deal. If you find it at that price, I think you’ll be happy with the location and the people. Thanks for everything ❤️

That taverna beside the hotel was genuinely very good. The location was handy too, quiet but still an easy walk to shops, restaurants and nightlife, and the pool was nice. Our room and bathroom were fine, and check-in was quick. For the price, the stay might have been okay if not for three things. Breakfast was so poor that I’d skip booking it; after the first day, we ended up spending on food elsewhere anyway. I’ve rarely seen a hotel breakfast this bad, even cheap hostels in India or Cambodia did better. The standard room had AC, but using it cost €7 per calendar day, not per 24 hours. I understand charging extra, though I think it should be based on hours used, and rooms should have fans. There were no lockers in the rooms either. I don’t leave valuables there, so it didn’t affect me, but reception had lockers for an extra €10 a week or €15 for two weeks, which I’d never come across before. We stayed a week as a couple.

The location was decent, but I came back from this holiday so tired that we took two extra days off to recover before work. The beds were awful, with poor mattresses, a creaky old frame and pillows that felt full of stones. The pool was dirty and smelled, and the staff came across as unfriendly and unprofessional. Breakfast was dreadful: the same cheapest products every day, boiled eggs left from the day before, awful coffee, and hot water from a kettle whose inner coating had come off into it. It was undrinkable. The fruit and vegetables were kept in the fridge. The garden looked beautiful, but mosquitoes were everywhere, so sleeping with the door or windows open wasn’t possible. There weren’t any mosquito nets. We were left in the room with a mouldy smell from the old furniture and the AC, which we hardly ever use but had to pay an extra €7 a day for. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in over the past ten years. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
