Olympos Beach

A dangerous place. In 2023, my wife, our friends, and I were at the pool when, for some strange reason, five or six men attacked us. We asked the hotel staff for help and nobody cared. The hotel has no security or cameras, so its safety standards are extremely poor.

The staff were amazing, from the dining room to reception. Stavros at the lobby bar was friendly every time we saw him, always smiling, and made excellent drinks. I'd heard people call him grumpy and unfriendly, so I paid attention, but those complaining seemed unfriendly themselves. Being friendly back and knowing a few Greek words goes a long way. Having worked as a receptionist, I really appreciate the effort the staff put in. We stayed from 21.9. to 28.9.2025, and my fiancée and I were glad we chose this place. It's a 4-star hotel, so keep your expectations realistic rather than expecting 5-star extras. The hotel may be older, but it was comfortable enough for what we paid. The food was good with enough choices even for picky eaters. Drinks were good too, though perhaps not quite like what you'd get in a bar in Faliraki. The beach and hotel pool were both quite good. There were animation programs late into the night, but you're on holiday, so enjoy them, or use earplugs if you want to sleep. I'm already planning to stay here again when I'm back in Rhodes. It suits all my needs.

There was plenty to do in the evenings, with entertainment that made the nights more enjoyable. The sports facilities were in good shape too, including tennis courts, beach volleyball, and a ping-pong table. The hotel grounds were green and peaceful, and we booked an excursion there. We also rented a car on site, and that all went smoothly. The beach and pool areas were clean and well cared for. We could always find a free sunbed by the beach, so there was no need to get up early to claim one. Staff were consistently polite, friendly, and helpful. Food was a highlight: varied and delicious, with something new each day and a broad choice. At the beachside restaurant, there were drinks, fresh fruit, snacks, wood-fired pizza, and lunch throughout the day, all fresh and well prepared. We had a really enjoyable stay and would happily return.

The sea access is great for snorkelling, with shallow water in one spot and deep water just a step away. The pool was the centre of things during the day, and the evening concerts and disco were good. The people putting them on really care. I especially liked the African trio singing popular songs as if they were the original singers. I hope they are paid well. The hotel is quite far from both Faliraki and Kalithea, but it offers more than enough. Mini-market epsilon is nearby and has the best prices around. The rooms are old and due for renovation, but everything works and they were cleaned thoroughly. You probably won't spend much time in the room anyway. Staff were friendly and helpful. The receptionist speaks several languages, the pool baristas have loads of energy, and the dining room manager and waiters were helpful and respected personal space while working unobtrusively. Food was good. I've been to Greece three times, and this was the best of the three for food. The selection changes, but it can get boring quickly if you're picky or eat a lot. For an average eater, it's great. Beer and cocktails were good too. There's not much accommodation for children. The playroom was always empty for some reason, and the outdoor playground was empty because of the heat.
