Rodos Sun Apartments

It was our second time in Faliraki and our first visit to Rodos Sun Faliraki last week, and we had an amazing time. What made it special was how the staff treated us. Jimmy was there to welcome us as we got off the bus late at night, and George and Jimmy came out when we left to say goodbye and help with our cases. On the bus to the airport, we stopped at about seven other hotels, and not one had staff outside to see guests off. Those personal touches mean a lot, so thanks to Jimmy, George, Emma, Lamprini, Yannis, and all the kitchen and cleaning staff. We loved the Monday BBQ night, bingo, and killer pool. Don't miss them if you go. The bar food was lovely and good value for breakfast or lunch. We spent 11 nights there and met lots of lovely guests, making some new friends. Now I understand why there are so many repeat guests. We'll be back in future years. Take care, everyone, and enjoy your rest next month, you deserve it.

We've just come home from another stay at Rodos Sun. Our first visit was 11 years ago, but this will unfortunately be our last. For the final 4/5 days, it felt like we'd been transported to a rowdy 18 to 30 hotel. People drank beer from pint glasses in the pool, rubbish floated in the water and was left around it, and alcohol was constantly being spilled or thrown into the pool. The baby pool and the ladies' toilet seat were damaged, so on the last day there wasn't even a seat to sit on. The behavior in the toilets was awful too 🤬. It no longer felt like a quiet, family-friendly hotel for children. One day there wasn't a single free sunbed for us by the pool because at least a dozen guests from other hotels had taken them all. At first we hoped this was a one-off, but several other unhappy guests told us the same thing happened last year. When your children want to move hotels and refuse to stay where they love, by the pool, you know it's time to find somewhere else. Thank you for the lovely memories from all those earlier years, but Rodos Sun isn't the place for us anymore 😢

The apartments were nice and clean, and the staff were all friendly. It's tucked away at the end of a dead-end road, around ten minutes on foot from the center. Since it's close to the main dual carriageway, getting around is easy. Facilities are limited, but there is a pool and a pool table, plus Stowford press on tap. My only gripe was the bin. It was too small and filled up every day, so it would've been nice to have it emptied daily or somewhere to tip it out.

The grounds are really pretty, and the pool was lovely and clean. The apartments are great, and the food was tasty, especially the fresh, homemade chips. The Oreo milkshake is to die for. George welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home. Hope we get to come back soon.
