Sun Palace Hotel - All inclusive

The staff at the restaurant were wonderful, always a pleasure to meet at the door. We loved the food, especially at the Greek restaurant Meze Meze, and the kids ate everything happily. The pesto pasta at the Snack Bar by the water park was the most delicious I’ve ever had, and you can get food there throughout the day. The pools were clean and the slides were lots of fun. We didn’t like how many plastic cups were used, though. When it was windy, they all ended up in the pools, and that policy really should change. Our rooms were clean, but sometimes the cleaning lady seemed a bit lazy. The kids loved the animation team. A wonderful place for a family Holiday.

The old section looked like a concentration camp, while the new part was dirty, full of insects and poorly maintained. This felt more like a hostel full of drunks than a hotel. The food was shocking, and I don’t understand how they dare serve it. The alcohol was about the lowest quality you could find, and the facilities were outdated and neglected. It was absolutely not worth the money, especially when better hotels are available at much more attractive prices. We didn’t recommend setting foot in this hostel, let alone eating at its restaurants, where dining room food is served with only slight changes. Everything was shocking, and we eventually moved to another hotel that respects itself. Don’t ruin your vacation. Stay away!

There’s lots to do and see around sun palace, and my partner and I had a lovely stay. I’m especially grateful to the gentleman Phillip. I lost my bag with my Polaroid camera inside, but just as I was leaving, he found it and handed it back to me. I’m over the moon. Thank you again, Phillip, I appreciate it so, so much. You’re a star! 🌟

The food was a highlight for us. Breakfast had loads of fresh fruit, yoghurt and Greek honey, and there was always Greek salad and dolmades alongside the changing themed dishes. We liked both à la carte places too. The Greek meal was generous to a fault, while the Mexican food was a bit bland but fine. Drinks were great, and the bartenders were lovely. The animation team was louder, but they only invited us once and never pushed us to join in. We were among the first guests of the season, and the first few days felt wonderful. The staff were warm from arrival to departure, and we felt like family visiting. The hotel is near the beach and shops, yet it was peaceful in April and May, including after the evening show. They’re clearly working to improve the place, and the renovation was extensive. The old rooms were gone, and the blocks near Splash world looked nearly ready when we left after two weeks. Room cleaning was the real letdown. Floors weren’t swept, toilet paper was missing on some days, and putting out the cleaning sign didn’t bring anyone. My mother asked for her room to be cleaned and got it two days later. We waited to see what would happen without asking: after a week there may have been a quick dry sweep, but no mopping. I ended up cleaning myself, then got a full clean the day before we left, presumably because they thought we were checking out. The towels could also pass for mosquito nets. With better cleaning, new towels and sunbeds, this could be the top place in Faliraki. It’s already a very nice hotel, and I suspect it’ll soon be expensive.
