We booked six nights for my husband, our child, our newborn, and me. The room had two single beds pushed together to make a large double, plus a sofa bed. We planned for one parent and the toddler to use the double, and the other parent and the newborn to use the sofa. But that sofa bed was so uncomfortable that nobody could sleep on it or even rest there for half an hour. We all ended up sharing the two joined beds. That sofa needs replacing with one you can actually sleep on, instead of just putting things on it. The other main reason for my three stars is the cleaning schedule. On arrival, the owner told us the room would be cleaned every two days, and sheets and towels changed every four days. That's roughly what happened. The owner also said to ask if we needed anything in between, so we requested fresh towels every two days and got them. The sheets were changed once during our six-night stay, as we had been told. I couldn't rate the hotel lower because it is new, very well designed, and has spacious, clean rooms with modern furniture, a large veranda, and a fully equipped kitchen. The pool area is beautifully decorated, and we could relax there with carefully chosen music. The owner was kind and polite, despite some bad comments I'd read, and was ready to provide anything we asked for. The location is excellent, just a few meters from the beach and the area with shops, restaurants, and bars. A few other points: the pool is very small and only waist-deep for an adult, so it's not for swimming. There's also a jacuzzi for adults, which I didn't use, though other guests enjoyed it. There are lots of mosquitoes around the pool. The room air conditioning only works with all the windows closed. I would have given five stars if cleaning and changing the sheets and towels happened at least every two days, and if the owner replaced the sofa bed with one suitable for sleeping.

A month ago, I saw the owner kick an injured dog. I later learned the dog had died. What more is there to say?

The spot is nearly central, handy for getting around, but it stays quiet. My room was roomy and clean, with a balcony, and the bed was comfortable.
