We really loved our stay at mod. The food was so good that we kept ordering our favorites instead of trying everything. For dinner, we loved the moussaka, baklava, and hummus, while the spanakopita and bougatsa were our favorite breakfasts. Chef Mariana was cheerful, kind, and did a wonderful job. Housekeeping worked incredibly fast and reset the room beautifully. The owners are easy to reach by text and respond promptly, which suited us better than having to chat at a desk after hours walking in the heat. The sunset tour and airport transfer with argyris both went really well. He was friendly, took us to places we couldn't get to without a car, snapped photos of us, explained some history, and answered all our questions. Laundry service and glass water bottles were especially convenient. We didn’t have to pack extra clothes, and there was more water outside the rooms whenever we wanted it, without calling anyone to bring it. It was lovely not to have to check whether dishes were vegan or worry about cross contamination. The whole place is thoughtfully set up as a vegan haven, which made it so much easier to relax around food while travelling. Christina and argyris clearly put a lot of work into their vision and care about the business. A true gem.

We were so relaxed during our stay at MOD that we canceled all our other plans after the first dinner just to eat there for every meal. The food was incredible. The beta suite had a really unique hot tub you enter through a window, with a breathtaking view. The hotel is only a few minutes from the main strip, so it’s close to everything but just outside the chaos. We’ve recommended MOD to all our friends. Vegan or not, stay and eat here, you won’t regret it. Thank you!!!

What keeps bringing us back is how hard it is to choose between exploring Santorini and staying put in the hot tub. The rooftop terrace, added in 2025, gives another incredible vista, and the whole building is immaculate and minimal, yet warm and organic, much like its owners, Christina and Argyris. It became a dream of ours to visit after hearing about a fully vegan hotel in such a beautiful place. We finally came last year, returned this year, and have already booked for next year. We’re hooked. Each morning Christina would serve us a vegan banquet and ask what we planned to do. We rarely had much of an itinerary, so she and Argyris would offer a whole range of ideas, point us toward hidden gems, and help us get the most out of the island. Their love of Santorini is infectious. We’re not very adventurous travellers, but they coaxed us out of our hot tub comfort zone. We even did The Hike. Michelle and I have slightly different opinions about it, but agree that even sturdy sandals aren’t right for the rocky section halfway along, where you meet Mount Doom’s smaller but no less intimidating cousin. This year we skipped The Hike and saw much more of the island, taking the excellent bus every day. It was cheap, regular, fully air-conditioned, and handy for getting around to explore and eat. Santorini has a decent choice of places for vegans, including MOD. We never went hungry. Breakfast was a delicious, nutritious three courses covering all the bases. The traditional Greek Koulouri bagel with cream cheese and tofu bacon is a favorite, as are the moreish Spanakopita spinach pie and chickpea omelette. Everything looked beautiful and tasted amazing. My own top pick is the tomato fritters, tomatokeftides. They’re so out of this world that I keep trying to make them at home and even dream about them. That’s MOD for you, and we’ll be back again and again.

It’s taken me two years to write this, sorry Christina, because I can’t come up with a review glowing enough! Whether it’s your first visit or a return, it feels like coming home, but much better. The food and even the bathroom supplies are vegan by default, so we never have to think or worry about it. The location is just right: a short stroll and some steps take you to the famous Caldera, but the hotel is tucked away from the tourists, with lovely views of the other side of the island. You can spend hours relaxing in the hot tubs or on sunbeds, enjoying the quiet. The rooftop is beautifully designed and elegant, and the rooms are spotless, secure, and well maintained. They’re better than some 5* hotels I’ve stayed in. You could easily stay on the property the whole time, but when you head out, Christina and Argiris are happy to recommend places to see and good vegan food to find, as well as spots to avoid. They want you to make the most of the trip. Don’t miss a personal tour with Argiris. He’s lived on the island all his life and knows the best places. We’ve taken two tours and can’t wait for a third next year. The food alone gets five stars. Breakfast is three courses plus a buffet, and almost enough for two meals, so you may save on lunch. You can book dinner at the hotel too. Make room for the wines and desserts, and Christina’s lovely bespoke cakes are worth trying for a special occasion or just an extra treat. They’ll even pack you a meal if you’re going out or heading back to the airport. We can’t wait to return next year. Made Of Dreams, and then some.

The rooftop terrace was my favorite, a lovely place to relax and take in the view. The whole stay felt peaceful and restorative, and the owner was very kind and welcoming. The food was fresh, delicious, and varied, the room spotless and comfortable. I appreciated that they could offer great alternatives for a Glutenfree Diet. It’s only a few minutes from the center, with plenty of shops and places to get a nice drink with a view. I had a wonderful stay at this vegan hotel and highly recommend it.
