Galini Apartment's-Suites

After days exploring Crete, I loved coming back to relax on the porch or in a garden hammock. The family’s popular taverna is right next door, but the place is quiet overall, and the food is excellent. I ended up eating there most nights. I rented through Airbnb for 12 nights and had a modern, spacious apartment just steps from the sea. No mosquitoes, though there was an annoying fruit fly problem in the taverna. The family is friendly, and the host is always available for questions and tips. The apartment didn’t have WiFi at first, but the issue was fixed within five days. You’ll need a car to get around; several supermarkets are less than a 10-minute drive away.

The rooms were perfect, and for me this is one of the best taverns in Crete. Fresh, homemade food, cooked with love. The souvlaki 😍😍😍 Thank you for everything ❤️

The owners of the apartments and tavern made our 14 days here unforgettable with genuine hospitality and help whenever we needed it. We’ll meet again soon, Galini apartments! It’s a peaceful spot right by the beach, with clean rooms, air conditioning and plenty of parking. If you want to unplug, swim in blue-green water and eat handmade traditional Cretan food, this is a great place. Try the homemade mizithra cheese, yogurt and honey, plus the best Sfakion pancake. The meatballs, tsigariasto and grilled meat were memorable too.

I’ve known Rula, Petros and the whole Galini family for more than 15 years, and they make you feel at home. For real Cretan cuisine around Frangokastello, this is the taverna I’d choose. The baked lamb and imam deserve a special mention.
