We used this as a base for exploring the island and enjoying the beach over five days. The room was spacious, with a balcony overlooking the pool and beach, and there was plenty of parking. Check-in was quick, and our room was ready when we arrived. There is no elevator, so keep that in mind if mobility is an issue, though the hotel itself is easy to get around. The pool area was clean and had comfortable loungers. We often went to the beach across the street, where hotel guests could use the blue loungers and umbrellas for free. To the left, a beach bar had plush loungers for €30 for two. Breakfast cost extra, but there was lots to choose from, the food was very good, and items were replenished often. Francesco’s, the on-site restaurant, was a lovely dinner option, with excellent servers and food. The bar by reception was a pleasant place for a drink and sunset. It was a relaxing place to stay, and a good starting point for seeing the island.

Rena and the rest of the staff helped us sort out taxis and get around the island, and the restaurant staff were funny and great too. Thanks for everything! I spent a magical week here, with a lovely room looking straight onto the beach and pool. Both the beach and pool were perfect, and the delicious food made the stay even better. It was my first trip to Greece, and they made it wonderful. I'll definitely come back.

I spent six days here and, having stayed at several five-star hotels in southern Greece over the years, I found plenty to like. I don't usually choose bed-and-breakfast places because I value the extra services hotels provide, including having someone responsible available around the clock. It's easy to pick at little things, but I prefer to focus on what matters most. The clearest highlight is Kypri Bay. The hotel sits on a small cliff, so every room looks out over the bay. From the stairs, you cross a road and go down a few more steps to reach the sandy beach. The sea was remarkably clear: with a snorkel mask I could see more than 30 yards underwater. Small fish, about 7-8 inches long and typical Greek edible species, gather around the rocky end of the bay, if you can catch them. The hotel provides nine free umbrellas on the beach. A nearby beach bar has more comfortable seats for €30 for the day and also serves fast food. Across the bay, roughly a quarter-mile away, another bar rents windsurfing boards and canoes and offers other water sports. Summer weather is generally sunny, with temperatures around 26°C to 29°C, so sun protection matters. Strong north winds are common on western Andros, but here they run almost parallel to the shore and don't make big waves, so swimming and water sports are still enjoyable. The water stays shallow near shore, and you have to go quite far out for deeper water. South winds are the ones that affect this beach, though they're rare in summer. The hotel is clean, housekeeping is excellent, and the staff are courteous and helpful. There's parking behind the hotel and a bus stop on the nearby road. Breakfast is self-service from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m., satisfying, and served with a bay view. There's a sea-view seating area near reception, plus a quiet evening bar there with drinks and no loud music. By the small pool there's a livelier daytime bar, though with such clear sea water the pool hardly seems necessary. If you'd rather skip the tavernas in Kypri or Agios Petros, the Italian restaurant is open from 14:00 to 23:00. You can eat there with a view of the sea, or order free delivery to your room and enjoy it on the balcony overlooking the bay. Guests include families with children, older visitors, couples, and others, mostly from Europe, including Greece. It's pet-friendly too. You can stay in the area for your whole visit or rent a car and use the hotel as a safe, comfortable base for exploring the island. Excellent stay.

Perrakis has been a reliable choice for me. Everyone is attentive and exceptionally kind, and the location is ideal, with the beach only steps away. Breakfast has a wide selection and lovely ocean views.

The beach is still beautiful, but I can't recommend Hotel Perakis anymore. We stayed three days, and the experience left us extremely disappointed. I called before booking and was told hotel guests could use the beach in front for free. Once there, we learned it had been rented to someone else, who charged €30 a day for sunbeds. Guests were left a small, neglected patch of sand with just nine old umbrellas and broken loungers. When we raised the issue, staff only shrugged and said they couldn't do anything. No apology or help. We'd been coming to this hotel for years, but it has clearly gone downhill. Breakfast is now sparse and poor, cleanliness varies, and staff were generally unhelpful. They seemed more concerned with charging extra for beach towels and coffee than providing good service. I wouldn't return.
