The highlight for us was the big terrace, with views across the Aegean Sea toward Rethymno and Mount Psiloritis, and across to the White Mountains in the other direction. The house is roomy and has everything you need, set in a calm corner of Kefalas. There are two tavernas serving very good home-style food in the village, plus a cafe for really good coffee. We had a wonderful stay and wholeheartedly recommend it. Best wishes, Aneta and Tomek.

The huge terrace has a magnificent view, and the little house at the back of the property is laid out with an open kitchen, dining and living area, plus two bedrooms and a bathroom. The kitchenette has a fridge and stove, which was enough for us. There's a sofa bed, fireplace and TV in the living room, and a washing machine in the bathroom. Most of the floor is level, though the shower has a high step. This place isn't wheelchair accessible: you can get into the house, but not into the toilet or shower. I was glad my mother could manage with her walker. It worked reasonably well, although even the bathroom is too small for it.

It was so quiet here that the cicadas were what I fell asleep to. The terrace has a beautiful view, and the house was spotless and had everything we needed. Highly recommend.
