Corissia Beach Hotel

The beach was lovely, with fine sand and clear water, and the small town had enough bars and tavernas for a drink in the evening. We spent two weeks there and had a wonderful holiday. Staff were friendly and attentive, and breakfast and dinner on the half board plan were tasty each day. Chania, Rethymno, Balos, and Heraklion were all close enough for day trips. I'd recommend a visit.

The team at the hotel were helpful, and I especially want to thank Danny for being attentive, professional, and committed to guests' needs. Vasilis in service was friendly and quick, and Erdian looked after us promptly on the beach. Reception were helpful too. We stayed at Corissia Beach Hotel in August 2025. The beach is beautiful and just steps away, with the restaurant right by the sea. Breakfast had plenty of variety, was very clean, and stayed fresh until the end. We didn't enjoy the à la carte dinner to our taste, though the team did their best. Evenings were lovely for having a drink in the pleasant atmosphere.

The staff were the best part of our five nights at Corissia Beach Hotel. Everyone was kind and friendly from the moment we arrived, and they're a real credit to the place. I did enjoy the stay, but quite a few things felt below what I expect from a four star hotel, especially for the price, which was similar to another hotel we stayed at the week before that didn't have these problems. In the room, a socket was hanging out of the wall, there was hardly any storage, and the bathroom was very small. The WiFi was frustratingly slow and patchy, and it required a separate username and password for every two devices. I don't know why they set it up that way, but it made me wonder whether they were tracking which sites each guest visited. There was no smart TV access, even though the TV's smart functions seemed to be blocked. The pool was only open from 10:30 to 17:30. I assume that's because the restaurant is right beside it, but my kids love swimming, and we'd had four years of hotels with no time limits, so that was a real disappointment. More than once we couldn't find a free sunbed because people had left their belongings on them all day. There were other things that may just come down to my personal taste. But at a three star hotel I wouldn't have minded these irritations as much. The evening meal didn't include free drinks, not even water, which I've never encountered at a hotel before. Still, the staff were lovely and I had an enjoyable time overall.

We had a family room on the third floor with four proper beds and proper duvets. The shady garden and clean sandy beach were great, and the loungers were very comfortable. There are shops, cafés, taverns, supermarkets, tour operators, and car rentals nearby, so it's a lively spot. Food was very good, with lots of choice at breakfast and dinner, and we got a bottle of water each day. The sister Hotel has its own rooftop bar. The bathroom could use another towel hook and a washbasin cabinet for toiletries. WiFi could be better, though the staff were friendly.
