Sofia Apartments

We booked through booking.com for rooms with a direct sea view. The listing photos showed both rooms with sea views, but when we arrived, only one had a partial view. The other looked out onto the parking lot behind the building. We paid by credit card and checked in, but I never received an invoice. The rooms were completely different from what we expected. They said the photos were old and the furniture had changed, but our complaint was about the view, not the furniture. We went to reception to ask for the rooms we had booked. It was 500 meters across the street in another building, under a different name, Riverside rather than Sofia Apartments. The receptionist asked for the manager. Then 4-5 men who worked for the woman who owned Sofia and Riverside came over, surrounded me, my wife, and our three children, aged 6, 8, and 2, and tried to force us out. They spoke only Greek, and their behavior felt intimidating. My son started crying and didn't understand what was happening. They got us out of the building, and we stood on the sidewalk and called the police after they cancelled our reservation without refunding us. They warned us that if we called the police, things would go very badly for us and we wouldn't get our money back. It was 38°C, and I was out in direct sun with the three kids. After the police arrived, the 4-5 men left. We didn't see them again. They argued with the police for a while, then a woman came and gave us our money in cash, three hours after we arrived. Be aware, and get photo confirmation by WhatsApp or email for the room you're booking!
