The location is good and getting around was easy, and the manager at the all inclusive restaurant was such a lovely man. The guy at the pool bar was lovely too. But some things really need attention, and the all inclusive setup needs explaining better on arrival. We got there at 11.30 at night, and I understand the staff member may have been tired, but we lost quite a bit of money because of the lack of information. For a four star hotel, it felt very basic. All inclusive was okay, but the pool area was the only place to get drinks, and people were “reserving” them at 6-7am, so we had no chance. Only on our last day did we find out we could use the all inclusive at the Mare on the beachfront. By then we’d been buying drinks at a bar. The aircon kept leaking water, so we were constantly using towels to soak it up, even after telling staff. At dinner, we asked for a Coke and were forgotten three nights in a row. I know it gets busy, but still. There were lots of teenagers and people in their early 20s getting very drunk until 3am and playing knock-a-door-run. I don’t mind a laugh, but they were deliberately targeting older people because “they’re old and it’s funny.” There were no telephones in the rooms to alert staff, and if I went downstairs to complain, they would have seen me and there was no stopping them. The balconies weren’t private at all, so I felt awkward sitting out there.

The food was cold, and on several occasions the meat served was still raw. It seemed to be the same raw meat transported between Summer Beach and its sister hotels in a dirty, un-refrigerated van. I have a video of the transfer, and the meat wasn’t even sealed in the metal containers. A few times we left the food and ate at restaurants instead. Today it was so undercooked I had to take photos. The heat lamps don’t do the job, and we heard families around us complaining. We paid for all inclusive but spent double our budget eating elsewhere because the hotel food seemed awful and potentially dangerous to health. We travelled on October 5th and arrived at Summer Beach around 1am on October 6th. The bus dropped us at a nicely lit Mare Hotel, but that wasn’t ours. Summer Beach seemed like an overspill hotel, with no sign outside and looking like an apartment block behind a small bar or eatery. At reception there was no receptionist, just an older man in normal clothes who said the receptionist had to leave. We were charged €70 hotel tax, which seemed high compared with other countries and much nicer, more expensive hotels. He didn’t give us a welcome pack or explain breakfast times, just opened our room and left. There was no hot water when we tried to shower. We called the number on the booking reference, got an “oh okay sorry,” and that was it. The hot water went off six more times during our stay, sometimes at night and twice in the morning, so we had cold showers. The room had a plate of fruit and a sandwich that we didn’t want. We left it to be taken away, but four days later the fruit was rotting, so I put it outside on the window ledge. It was still there on day six. On three occasions I had to go to reception for toilet rolls because the cleaners left us with none. The replacement towels were dirtier than the ones they took, including one that looked like someone had wiped their bottom on it. There were stains on the bedding when we arrived, and they were still there days later. It seemed the cleaners were making the beds without changing the sheets, though I don’t mind that when it’s our dirt. These sheets were already dirty when we got there. The all inclusive drinks offer felt like a scam. The small poolside bar opened at 10:30 with only a few drinks included, and you had to pay for the rest. It closed at 6pm, and we were told to go to another hotel for drinks until 11pm, but there we were told we could only drink until 6pm too. The promised all inclusive snacks during the day didn’t exist, just a bowl of rotting fruit at the small pool bar. We’ve stayed at many four star hotels. I’d expect a decent food selection, entertainment, snacks through the day, drinks included late into the night, clean rooms, hot water, and a much wider choice of drinks, including cocktails. We travel a lot and have several holidays a year in different countries and hotels. Summer Beach has been the worst by far. I don’t usually complain if a holiday feels like a fair deal and take the good with the bad, but this was all bad, and my online reviews will show that. It’s barely a two star place, and never a four star.

We needed a quick getaway, and Summer Beach in Georgioupolis was just right. The room was comfortable and clean, breakfast had plenty of options, and the staff were friendly without being pushy. We could hear the waves from the balcony, with the sea just a breath away. Easy, relaxing vibes all around.

A wonderful stay, and great value for money. The hotel is beautiful, with nice clean rooms, friendly staff, tasty meals, and great animations. There are free sunbeds at the beach. For us, it was the best option.

A friendly hotel, immaculately clean and perfectly placed between the village and the beach in Georgioupolis. Our room was large and had a quiet balcony. It was cleaned daily when requested.
