The Tarra is close to the beach and main square, about 100yds away, and there are plenty of sunbeds, so no rush to claim one. It’s a family-owned hotel and everyone pitches in. The food is cooked to a high standard by one of the family, proper Greek cooking. People were so friendly, and I was even asked if there were particular Greek dishes I’d like on the menu. Across the road there’s a large hotel we visited for a drink and shows. They finished promptly at 11pm, so it went quiet. The place is spotlessly clean. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Tarra.

Helpful, friendly reception and staff made the stay bearable. The owner and their friends smoked in the bar, making it almost unusable at times, and their kids ran around making lots of noise. We had cold showers on 5 of the 14 days. It’s a new hotel, but parts were unfinished or in a dangerous state. A four star hotel with aspirations to be a two star. Be cautious if booking.

The pool hasn’t been crowded during our stay, and the beach is 100m away. If you’re after a friendly hotel with Greek hospitality, good food, and a Crete style feel, this is it. We’re a family with two teenagers, looking for a relaxing holiday, and we haven’t been disappointed. The staff are friendly, helpful, and courteous. Breakfast has a great choice, the yogurt is fantastic, and the omelets set you up for the day. We’re half board, and dinner offers something for all tastes, from local specialities to Greek and beyond. The fish soup tonight was perfect. I’m a little reluctant to recommend the place, since it might make booking harder next time.

We had a lovely sea and mountain view from this cozy hotel. The rooms were bright and clean, and the hosts were kind and courteous. The beach is just 50m away. There’s also a garden and playground on site, along with a beauty salon and a shop selling cosmetics and skincare. The hotel tavern serves delicious home-made food.
