The pool was clean, with the water circulating regularly, and the owners were quick to respond whenever we needed something. Getting to the property takes care on the last stretch, since the road is narrow and a bit steep. Chania town is about 35-40 minutes away, so having a car is strongly recommended. One thing to watch when booking: there are two villas called Manos. One has an open view, while the other looks onto the first villa's walls and has no private parking, just street parking. We could have booked the first and been placed in the second without advance notice. The apartment itself has the usual amenities, though some furniture and cupboards are old and due for replacement. The TV has no antenna for Greek channels, and the air conditioning cools very slowly, taking several hours. Another unit in the living room would help.

The villa was just as good as it gets, and we really enjoyed our earlier stay in their apartments too. It's peaceful, relaxing, and has a great view, yet the town is nearby without the noise. You'll need a car to get around. The owners are friendly and helpful. We’d happily choose it for a private holiday with family or friends.

We arrived well before check-in and asked around locally about seeing the property. Someone who knew the owner called him, and he came to meet us. He then brought us to his own home and invited us in for afternoon tea, which was so kind. Once we checked in, the hosts gave us complete privacy and let us enjoy the house in its lovely secluded setting. We stayed quite a while ago, but it remains a special memory. I can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you, hosts.

Lovely views, a charming setting, and a little pool make this a beautiful small villa. There's a friendly local taverna just a few minutes away on foot. It works well for four as a family or for two couples, though you'll need a car.
