The staff were so kind, friendly, and ready to help. I really enjoyed every day of my stay. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the garden and grassy yard were really nice.

We booked a studio online from Athens and arrived with our money. The room was supposed to have a safe, so we left our belongings and cash inside it. When we came back that afternoon, everything was gone, including the money and clothes. We called the police, but they said there was nothing more they could do. The place refused to take responsibility, saying it was a studio rather than a hotel. They returned our deposit, but still charged us for the night before we left for Athens the next day. We lost all our money and the vacation we had looked forward to all year was ruined. They didn't even apologize for what happened there. No courtesy at all. I thought Cretans were so nice, but we were deeply disappointed. It felt inhospitable, all about the money.

A great base for exploring the west of the island, with a lovely garden and a spacious apartment. The lady was very kind. Platanias is best avoided if mass tourism isn't your thing.

The room was cozy, clean, and had air conditioning and a refrigerator. It was also handy for cooking. The hostess was good, and the place was pretty and green, with an optimal price.
