The tavern had the kind of homey feel I really like, and the fish was genuinely fresh, unlike what I've found at many tourist spots. Akrotainaritis is family run, and everyone was very friendly to me. I had a great stay too: the room was clean, and its view was easily the best around.

The balcony is a lovely spot for both sunrise and sunset, with what I thought was the best view in Gerolimenas. The family run hotel also has a very good tavern, and the fish and house ouzo are worth trying. It's modest rather than luxurious, but I strongly recommend it.

An older man turned us away, saying the place was only for hotel guests, so we couldn't try their service. It was a very unpleasant way to be treated and my first bad experience in Greece in ten years. Maybe their attitude toward visitors is why their place was empty while the nearby cafes and restaurants were full.

The bill came to 30 euros, which felt steep when we could have had twice as much elsewhere. We ordered grilled fish and souvlaki and neither was tasty. The portions were small, there was no side dish offered or included, and the bread was inedible. Maybe other things here are better, but I won't return or recommend it.

The view was great and the food was fine, though as a vegetarian I found the menu a bit too meat heavy. The vegetables were done really well and tasted great, especially the grilled stuffed peppers.
