Kreoli Hotel

I couldn’t sleep because the main road runs right past the hotel and the traffic noise is unbearable. I raised it with the front desk, but nothing was done. The windows seem to have something like a sheet of paper instead of proper glass. They could have put in real sound insulation, but didn’t bother. It feels like they only care about taking your money. Extremely noisy. Don’t book here under any circumstances.

The cleaning staff were willing and hardworking, and the hotel was spotless. Its location is handy too, about 150 meters from the beach and 900 meters from Glyfada downtown. An Uber ride there was 5-7 euros. The rooms have been renovated in a modern style. Service at reception was a real letdown. The receptionists were rude and reluctant to provide information or help. When my husband was ill, I asked for a thermometer and was told it wasn’t part of their first aid kit. Our room also had no air conditioning remote, so we had to call reception whenever we wanted to change the temperature. That was especially inconvenient while my husband had a fever for two days. The balcony lights came on automatically each night and made it feel like an interrogation room. The administration staff often argued, especially about money and their salaries. Breakfast was poor, with low-quality cheese and cold cuts and very little choice. If we arrived 30 minutes before it closed, items weren’t available. It felt more like a B&B breakfast than a hotel one. There was no designated outdoor smoking area, and the lack of late check-out made our departure difficult because we had a late-night flight.

The foyer was stunning, our room was lovely, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had clean towels every day and great service. I’m a very light sleeper, but managed to sleep fine, though earplugs might help if you’re sensitive to noise. Most hotels on the main road seem to have the same issue. We hadn’t originally chosen this hotel. Our apartment booking fell through 24 hours beforehand, so our travel providers picked this place for us. I only wished there’d been a table and chairs on the balcony for evenings, and a rail for hanging long dresses. I used the bathroom rail instead, though, and made it work.

The hotel is clean and in a good location, though the gardens could use some attention. Breakfast was very poor, almost insulting.
