The service was terrible. The manager seemed apathetic and the owner was uncultured and hostile. They take payment upfront, then, in my experience, treat you with contempt. They hid, yelled and gaslit guests when approached. I’ve travelled in many countries, rich and poor, and never encountered anything like it. The hotel itself is average: generic pool, ordinary rooms and facilities, mediocre breakfast and architecture. That could have been fine, but the way it was run made the stay impossible to enjoy. The manager said he ran the whole place himself, but when help was needed, he hid behind saying he was just an employee and not to blame. The switch was subtle and quick. One day the whole hotel had no electricity or running water until mid-afternoon, leaving people without showers or toilets for hours. I was told this happens regularly. The manager was nowhere around to help. The next day, he called it a good day because the power outage meant he didn’t have to come to work, since he couldn’t shower. Guests were left wondering what was going on while he was happy to stay home. When I arrived, they had lost my reservation and didn’t know about it. With all rooms full, I waited about three hours before being put up somewhere else. When I raised it with the owner, he said I was complaining about nothing and yelled that I should leave if I didn’t like it. There was no apology. That was their idea of hospitality, and it was pathetic. I’d avoid the place. If you only want poolside photos, maybe it suits you. If basic service, respect and comfort matter to you, it doesn’t.

The rooms are cramped, like student rooms, packed close together so you’re almost on top of the next balcony and can see into nearby rooms and windows. The place is very badly organized and managed. They handle reservations through outside partners and failed to enter my booking for the night. After a long discussion, they drove me to another hotel, where I waited until 2 am for a room. My partner stayed on the phone with them until then to make sure I wouldn’t be left on the street, even though he had a 6 am flight. They drove me back to their hotel the next morning. When we complained, they acted as if nothing unusual had happened and treated it as normal. We had to pay the full price for the other hotel despite all the trouble and the check-in after 2 am. They offered no compensation or even an apology, only arguments, excuses and a request that we leave the hotel at night. I’ve never seen a manager argue so much with a customer about the manager’s own mistake, with no basic idea of customer service. In other places, customer rights and service standards matter. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

Alex’s leadership really stood out. As General Manager, he personally made sure our stay went smoothly and handled requests with genuine care and efficiency. His commitment to quality and guest satisfaction is reflected in the consistently high standard of service from the whole team. From arrival, the staff were warm, attentive and professional, making us feel at home. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated and equipped with the modern comforts we needed. The hotel exceeded my expectations, and Alex and his team made the stay memorable as well as pleasant. I highly recommend it for great hospitality, and look forward to returning.

The pool is a lovely spot, with comfy loungers, even if it’s on the small side. Just keep in mind this is a cozy, modern little hotel, not a big resort, and there’s no beach access. You’ll want a car: it’s in a remote area, with only a few restaurants nearby. Our room was small, and people on the stairs could see straight into it, so privacy was an issue. Breakfast was pretty basic and could use more choice. They charge 2€ for pool towels, which I didn’t think was a great idea. Still, San Giorgio Hotel felt clean, cozy, and almost brand new. The staff were really welcoming, and I had a pleasant four-day stay. I’d definitely come back despite those drawbacks.

The staff were attentive and friendly, and the hotel was spotless. Breakfast was a highlight, with lots of tasty options to choose from. There were all the amenities we needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay. We’d happily recommend it.
