The location is convenient for getting to Heraklion, and the staff did try to help, though they still fell short in the end. We could clearly hear planes landing at Heraklion airport. The room photos and the exterior were quite misleading, the pool couldn’t be used, and although we asked for a queen bed, we were given two single beds. The toilet was still dirty from the previous guest, and the place could use some renovation. We also didn’t realize the rating had gone from 3 stars on Google to 2 on Booking, so that was on us.

Katerina took such good care of us, thank you. Our time in Crete wouldn’t have been the same without your support. The room was really clean and cool, and we enjoyed staying here. I feel lucky to have found this hidden gem, close to plenty of beaches and restaurants.

Having a car is almost essential unless you’re happy to do a lot of walking. The hotel is in a quiet part of Gaves, and the beach is a 10 to 15-minute walk away. Near the campsite, sunbeds and umbrellas cost about 6 EUR per set. The smaller buildings give the place a charming hacienda feel, with mini terraces and, in some cases, balconies or inner courtyards. Our superior apartment was spacious and worked very well for three people. It had what we needed, though the kitchen was minimal, with no stove or cooking utensils. Housekeeping came every two days to clean and change towels. There weren’t many mosquitoes, and everything else was fantastic. The owner was especially friendly and accommodating. We also met her husband, a polite, hardworking man who runs different businesses in Ierapetra. Respect!

For a three-star hotel, this was formidable, and I honestly recommend it. My husband and I stayed for seven days and were very pleased. The staff were kind and helpful, the location was lovely with flowers and cats, and there was a beautiful pool. The sea is close by, and the bus to the city is two minutes away. Anna is a wonderful host, always glad to help and doing her best to make your stay pleasant. The hotel is great, with clean rooms and pool water that’s always clean too. Breakfast is made up of local products, with lots of sweet things.
