Marietta's Resort by Konnect, Gouvia Corfu

The rooms are spacious and quiet, with lovely views, and there's a great pool and staff. We enjoy walking, but anyone with difficulty walking should know there's a short uphill stretch from the main road.

The pool setup was great, with a main pool and a smaller paddling pool for children. The deepest part is 2.5m. The apartments are roomy and come with plenty of kitchen gear, including a fridge/freezer and electric hob. They were tidy, clean, and cleaned regularly, with a safe in the room and locks on all the doors. We felt looked after as a family from the moment we arrived. Papa, Mama, and their family and staff are lovely and work hard to make sure you have what you need. The food is delicious, with something for everyone on the menu, plus an ice cream freezer and a bar. It's a good spot for a quiet night's sleep, set back from the main road and town, but still close enough to walk to dinner or Gouvia beach. There's also a small market shop and a bus stop just down the hill. We'd highly recommend Mariettas and hope to come back for another holiday soon.

I loved staying at Marietta's Resort. It's peaceful and nicely located near town, but set away from traffic, so nights were quiet. My room was lovely and clean, and having a kitchen was a bonus. The pool was the nicest I've ever swum in. Marietta was so helpful and accommodating. I needed a taxi to the port, and she kindly offered to drive me herself. A wonderful Mediterranean escape, and I'll definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Corfu!

We've been visiting for several years, and now it's time to share what makes this little hidden gem so good. Mariettas is a peaceful, welcoming place with genuinely hospitable owners. If you're after a big, busy, noisy all-inclusive holiday, this isn't the kind of place for you. The family know guests by name, and many people come back. You can unwind on the balcony, by the pool, or at the bar. The welcome is warm, and saying goodbye with the usual emotional “see you next year” says a lot. The rooms are tidy, a good size, and have nice views. Everything the area offers is close by. The home-cooked food is a big part of the appeal: Marrietas's mother and father do most of the cooking, including traditional Greek dishes made with good ingredients at fair prices. Their BBQ is well known, and the waffles are so good you can't stop at one or two. The spinach and cheese pies are favorites of mine. Marietta and family, thanks for taking care of us over the years.
