Omiricon Hotel

Fine for one night, but the room was poorly equipped for the price. There’s a bed, air conditioning, a small balcony, a shower, towels and a mini fridge, and nothing else. It should offer more for what it costs.

One thing to clarify: "Omiricon Hotel" and "Omirico Appartments" are nearby and belong to the same owner. This review is only about "Hotel". It’s a separate building on the grounds of Illiada Beach hotel, managed through Illiada Beach’s reception. The room had two single beds in a small bedroom, a tiny bathroom and a fairly large balcony. It had been renovated recently, and the basic furniture and amenities were all new and in very good condition. It was cleaned daily, with towels changed every other day. The place was very quiet. I heard no music or shouting from the nearby street, beach or restaurants, though I could hear neighbors walking past my door or talking on the next balcony. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent, but the internet bandwidth was poor. Voice calls worked, but streaming online videos was out of the question. The location is the best thing about Omiricon Hotel: a one-minute walk to the beach and two minutes to bus stops for the main places around Corfu, including Kerkira (Corfu Town), Palaiokastritsa, Dassia and Ipsos beaches, Sidari and others. There are so many restaurants nearby that it’s impossible to visit them all in a one- or two-week vacation. If, like me, you use your room just to sleep and spend the day swimming and exploring, it’s hard to find a better location.

After we arrived, we refused to stay because the location was unacceptable, but the hotel would not refund our prepayment. The apartments sit directly beside Corfu’s noisy four-lane main road, something the advertisement doesn’t clearly explain. Its map listing makes it look as if it’s by the beach, but only the hotel is there, and that hotel is closed outside the high season. The description is so unclear and incomplete that I believe they are deliberately misleading people. I strongly recommend staying away.

The ground-floor studio was in good condition and had a balcony. Good value for money.
