Las Hotel & Spa

The hotel is just behind the Gytheiou port, but the rooms are far too small. There aren't enough power sockets, and some older ones have no earth connection. There wasn't even a socket for charging a phone. The free WiFi was no use to me, so I relied on public 5G the whole time, thanks to the Greek government, not the hotel. The bathroom sink was damaged and hadn't been replaced, and the room's so-called “City view” was terrible. The restaurant and spa were closed for two weekdays without any notice. At the restaurant, the kitchen and service seemed poorly coordinated, with all the courses arriving together or nearly so. The food was very average for the high prices, though there was a good wine selection and an excellent cocktail bar. Breakfast was good, the design was nice, and the hotel was very clean. Room cleaning was excellent.

The team made a strong impression, from the polite, attentive reception staff to Dimitra, the spa therapist, who gave us a wonderful Arabian hammam experience. The service was outstanding, and we found the recently renovated hotel spotlessly clean. It may be the best hotel in Gythio. Our room was bright, comfortable, and impeccably clean, with complimentary bottled water each day. There was a kettle with free coffee and tea, though no minibar. Adding one would be a welcome improvement. Most rooms have breathtaking sea views, and the location is excellent. The rooftop pool is stunning, and the stylish restaurant there serves quality dishes in a lovely setting with a view. Breakfast was a generous European-style spread with fresh products. The morning staff kindly made takeaway coffees for our daily outings. We also appreciated being offered late check-out and the flexibility with some extra requests. For us, Las Hotel is the clear choice in Gythio. We'll stay here every time we return.

Las Hotel was a letdown. Our comfort king room felt cramped, and the tiny bathroom had nowhere for toiletries or a towel. After washing or showering, we had to step out to get the frayed towel, with no place to hang it once it was wet. There was no coffee maker either, just a dirty, unusable hot water kettle.

The rooms are roomy and clean, and the service is friendly. The place looks over beautiful Gytiu port, with bars, restaurants, and supermarkets only a few steps away. Breakfast was more than enough.
